Flowers of Blood
K. Radhakumar *
The road!
What an awful road!
My feet are aching;
The deep wound inflicted –
Is it by this road?
But I have taken this road!
Why blame life?
The older generation has gone;
My generation has come
And will go away soon.
I wonder what future generations will make
Of our works
Our blood, sweat and tears.
My mind is stiff
Like a tree, firm on the ground
And there is a stiff wind blowing.
Do I bend
Or face the music ?
My mind –
A call girl?
I can feel a storm coming –
It is already dark.
Oh, my mind has absconded,
Has absconded with a self-ignited lamp.
A man is dead.
No obituary.
The man’s neighbour knows about it
And wonders for a moment
If the man had a pleasant life.
