First round of talk with KIM positive, Manipur deputy chief minister claims
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Oct 3
Manipur deputy chief minister Gaikhangam Saturday claimed that there had a positive development in the talk between government and delegates of Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) to bring an end to the present impasse over the passing of the three bills by Manipur Assembly on August 31 last. After the apex body was entrusted, a delegation KIM held talk with the government on Friday evening at the secretariat of the chief minister in connection with the contentious bills which several tribal bodies tag as Anti-tribal bills.
No breakthrough was made during the meeting. However, the deputy chief minister today claimed that the talk was positive even though he refused to disclose the details of the talk. He said that it would be too early to say on what basis the talk was held but it was approaching towards a positive direction. He maintained that it was the first round of talk to break the impasse.
