Film on minstrel set for bigger audience
Seven Sisters Post | Abdul Gani, Guwahati (Oct 20):
“It’s great to have a documentary theatrically released, especially in India, even if it’s a limited release. Songs of Mashangva is an important and very well made documentary showcasing a very interesting subject from the Northeast,” national award winning film critic Utpal Borpujari told Seven Sisters Post from New Delhi.
He also hoped that more documentaries should be made on the subjects. “We need more such independently produced documentaries on subjects from NE. I hope people with money in pockets and an interest in highlighting our culture will understand the importance of well made documentaries in highlighting one’s society and culture and come forward to finance such projects,” he added.
