Sir, The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission , United Kingdom has offered Commonwealth Split-Site Doctoral Scholarships tenable in the United Kingdom for the year 2008. These scholarships are available in all disciplines including Medicine and Dentistry. Eligibility Citizen and Residency: Candidates should be citizen of India. Qualification Requirement : Hold, by 1"' October 2008, a first degree of upper second class Honours standard (or above) or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification. Duration: 12 months Effective date of award : The Scholarship will commence from 1'' October 2008 in UK. A copy of the prospectus along with the application form is enclosed . University Grant Commision The UGC has received a communication from Centre de Sciences Humaines(CHS), 2, Augangzeb Road, New Delhi-110011 towards inviting applications for Post Doctoral Fellowships in International Relations at the CHS (a Research Centre in Social Sciences funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The Centre de Sciences Humaines (CSH), New Delhi invites applications for a post -doctoral fellowships in International Relations. Academic requirements and candidate profile The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in International Relations, Political Science or Political Geography from a recognised university in India or abroad. Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is a prerequisite. The candidate is expected to conduct a research project in International Relations in the context of contemporary India or South Asia and to produce original results in terms of publications. Preference will be given to projects contributing to one of the following themes: - India's relations with its neighbours; - India's energy procurement policies; - India's policies regarding environmental issues; - India's doctrines and practices of crisis management; - Indo-US relations, both in their state and societal dimensions; - the Indian Diaspora; - Regionalism in South Asia; - South Asian transnational social movements.
