Fake currency racket active in NE

Counterfeit currencies sourced from beyond the country’s borders have emerged as the latest threat to India’s economy, a dangerous trend that involves a network spread across Assam and some other parts of the Northeast.
Police and intelligence agencies are concerned over the increased seizure of fake banknotes in recent times, and suspect it to be part of a bigger game plan that is likely to involve foreign players based in neighbouring countries.
