The objectives of the competition are to promote quality education and to bring the consciousness of the modern education system amongst the people of our state. YMC has also been striving to promote
higher education in the state with its best level. In this age of globalization, our main focus is to realise how important higher education is for a progressive society.
We sometimes need to critically look at the current education system that has lots of colonialist legacy with the following questions:
o How far is the current education system serving its purpose in our society?
o Are our intellectuals representing us or confined to some alienated ideologies?
o How free are we able to think?
Likewise, we need to revisit the system and observe if there’s any dominance on our ideology.
Participants expressed their concerns and emotions on the current education system in Manipur. One was saying that lack of co-curricular and extracurricular activities as basis of the deteriorating condition
of the students that made him/her incompetent with the students from other states.
While another one mentioned about government negligence on the infrastructure of institutes that led to a worse academic ecosystem.
Dignitaries from different corners of Manipur put their reasonable ideas and suggestions for bringing our society up in a good quality education system in Manipur.
