Nagaland Post | Agencies | Kohima Dec 27 ()
Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has revived its demand for a separate State. At a meeting with its federating units in Tuensang on December 21, ENPO unanimously resolved to urge the Government of India to respond to its demand for a separate State before declaration of election to Nagaland Assembly due early next year.
“Unanimously we resolved to urge Government of India to respond to the demand of ENPO for a separate statehood before declaration of election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2018,” the resolution stated, as reported by UNI and The Assam Tribune.
ENPO also resolved to ask its members to resign if their demand for a separate state of “Frontier Nagaland” was not fulfilled by the Centre before the state general election slated for March next year, a UNI report stated.
