After Union home ministry data exposed unabated narcotic peddling from the northeast to mainland India, controlling agencies have intensified their drive against the narcotic producers by destroying cannabis planted on hundreds of acres of land in Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura.
Data received from the ministry of home affairs revealed that security agencies arrested 248 persons on the charge of narcotic peddling in the seven states of the region since January to May this year.
