Donation of Postmortem Kits to RIMS, Imphal
Major General Virendra Singh, VSM, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) donated three Postmortem kits to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal. The event was attended by Prof. Ch. Arun Kumar Singh, Medical Superintendent RIMS Hospital, Prof. Th. Bijoy Singh, HOD Forensic Medicine, RIMS and Prof. H. Nabachandra Singh, Medico legal Advisor to Government of Manipur besides other distinguished officers from Assam Rifles.
On the occasion, Prof. Th Singh told the gathering that although the Department of Forensic Medicine is self sufficient yet at the times of many casualties a large number of Postmortem kits are required. He acknowledged the positive role being played by the Assam Rifles in Manipur and expressed gratitude for providing such useful kits to the RIMS.
The Forensic Medicine Department of RIMS is the prime body conducting Postmortem examination of the dead bodies in Manipur. All the security forces in the state are largely dependent on this Department for carrying out the Postmortem examination of thier personnel.
On behalf of the security forces in state and mainly Assam Rfiles Maj General Virendra Singh, VSM, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) applauded the services being provided by the RIMS in all the fields of Medical Sciences and thanked the faculties of RIMS for the same.
