Doctors in Ukhrul cease work following threat
Nagaland Post | Imphal (Oct 11)
After two-day of closure, Ukhrul District Hospital was Thursday opened to resume normal healthcare service at the only government run hospital in the district. The hospital remained closed after the doctors and staff went on a cease-work strike since Tuesday night after some suspected armed NSCN cadres threatened them around 9 p.m.
The alleged threat was related with doctors unable to heal an ailing member of the armed group brought up to the hospital, reportedly suffering from typhoid for medical treatment. Reports said that the armed group insisted the doctor to administer a drug that will relieve the patient from the illness which the doctors were helpless.
