By Dr Nabakanta Sharma *
In the present chaotic situation in Manipur sometime I felt so much of depression, everyday killing abandon death body in the mortuary, last right perform by the municipality, my heart really sink it.
The only window of happiness in my life is the internet, provided by National Informatics Centre (NIC) to our hospital of course it's free and fast. I wander with ought this life may be an empty one.
Back to the brighter side my life I am sharing this experience to the esteemed readers of this newspaper. I usually don't disclose my mobile numbers in the private domain.
One fine morning one soft spoken gentleman calling me identifying himself (Uncommon for our society) as a pilot from leimakhong and want to get treatment, for his wife. I
have given my where about and free time.
Next day the pilot come with his charming lady and chubby son who is little beat naughty, plying around in my small garden. I briefly examined the lady and done a thorough scanning with ultrasound to her.
She needs a minor surgery, and I explain the condition to the young pilot. After chatting with the family over a cup of tea I enquire him how he got my mobile number?
In my utter surprise he catches hold of me through the internet search engine. He also disclose me that its take little beat of time to catch hold of my number.
I was really in the mixed feeling one side I am happy that he believe I am a good doctor in other hand my telephone number is no longer a secret now fortunately or unfortunately it is in public domain.
I am also a BBC addict this month they specially dedicated in the digital world if anybody interested it kindly browse it www.bbc.com/superpower its really brilliant.
I think it's a text book for new generation computer gigs like me. They give all the full detail how the internet is evolve from American defense program to digital dating where India is the leading country.
Every time I felt so disgusting when the old people is waiting in queue in the bank, where I can see my account balance from the click of mouse and sending money to my lazy son at Bangalore from my drawing room.
Its nothing but digital divide, sometime I really want to go back to medical school to learn in again, in my time everything was by heart you read you vomit out in front of your teacher, now you can see it in three dimension only thing you have to have a computer and literate brain.
