Denial to visit Irom Sharmila reaches court; hearing today

Arbitrary restriction being imposed on visiting human right crusader Irom Sharmila Chanu has now reached court. High Court of Manipur has fixed the hearing to a writ petition filed by a Tamil Nadu based journalist on Friday (December 6).
The recommendation of the NHRC was yet to be translated into work as the restriction is still applying and denied flatly two times request from a Tamil Nadu based journalist, Prabhagaran Mani from visiting Sharmila. He had reportedly sought permission from the Imphal East Judicial Magistrate.
