Deficit monsoon rains in most of NE

Barring Mizoram and Tripura, monsoon rainfall over NE region this year is not excessive, according to records of the region’s monsoon rainfall for the current year, available till date.
Assam received 1374.7 mm of rainfall during this period, against the normal of 1450.8 mm, which is five per cent less than normal. Manipur recorded 879.9 mm of rainfall, against normal of 1321 mm, which is again 33 per cent lower than normal for the period.
