Cry Of A Dying River...66
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that flows in the land of 'Godfather'(s) and 'Godmother'(s)
It pays to be a 'Godfather' or have one
In this land of Contracts and Contractors
Where everything/everyone is up for sale
'Godfather' gives you 'appointments' 'contracts' 'jobs' 'promotions' and get your work done
The river that has no 'Godfather' to unpollute the polluted water
The river that is only a river and no Godfather
No 'Godfather' to dredge the river-bed and let the water flow freely
No 'Godfather' to make an offer you cannot refuse.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that flows in the land of MOUs
MOU between Governments State and Union
MOU between State and Non-State
MOU between CSOs and Student Bodies
MOU between Bureaucrats and Technocrats
MOU between Meira Paibis and Politicians
The river that has been crucified
The river NAMBUL that has been NUMBED
By all the MOUs in the land of 'Sweet-Nothings'.
