Cry Of A Dying River...58
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
Don’t cry my city dwellers
You are strong enough to bash up fellow friends
You are shrewd enough to take people for a ride
You are willy enough to worm your way to the 'powers-that-be'
You are smart enough to outsmart ignorant folks
You are past-master of games people play
The game of earning fast quick bucks
You are such a specy of homo sapiens
Out to conquer the world of environs.
I am no longer the river I was once
Don't cry for Nambul
Yours is not to cry but crawl
Yours is not to moan but con
Yours is not to create but copy
Yours is not to plant but pluck
Yours is not to plough but ploy
Yours is not to serve but be served
Yours is not to clean but dump
The river that you use as your garbage storage.
