Cry Of A Dying River...46
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river you blame(d) for floods
Floods flash floods that follow the monsoon
Monsoon rains that lands the land in deluge
The river whose heart bleeds for the flood victims
Oh men modern men! selfish and greedy as you are
What you give(to nature) comes back to you
Floods flash floods deluge are creations
Self-created by myopic minds of men
Oh men! thou art victims of thy own creations.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that is in love with monsoon
Monsoon that gives an aesthetic feeling
Monsoon that brings message of love and peace
Monsoon that never ceases to inspire creative minds
The river that is not terrified
Of the 'terror of monsoon'
Of thundering roar and lightening bolt
The river that is in buoyant mood
Oh monsoon! Bless me the essence of monsoon.
