A graduation day of the 78th Adventure Course which commenced from September 23 was held today at Manipur Mountaineering Institute, Lamdan. The event was organized under the aegis of Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA).
The function was graced by Director, IPR Shri Meghachandra Kongbam as Chief Guest, Founder President of MMTA Shri Chaoba and Chief of Lamdan Shri M. Khuripou as Guest of Honours and MMTA President Shri N. Ibungochoubi as President respectively. Altogether 35 trainees consisting of 8 girls and 32 boys took part in the adventure course. Out of this, 15 trainees are from Ukhrul.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest Shri Meghachandra Kongbam said “an adventure is an exciting or unusual experience”. It may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking with an uncertain outcome. Adventurous experiences create psychological arousal which can be interpreted as negative or positive. It may be activities with some potential for physical danger such as travelling, exploring, mountain climbing, river rafting or participating in extreme sports. He further quote, Helen Keller “ Life is either a daring adventure or nothing”. Adventure activities can also lead to gains in knowledge.
President of MMTA, Shri N. Ibungochoubi who presided over the function spoke about the activities of MMTA. He said the uniqueness of this adventure course is that 15 boys and girls out of 35 trainees are from Ukhrul. It is a good chapter of MMTA he added.
Later, the Chief Guest distributed certificate to the trainees and simple presentation were also given to those trainees who were excelled in the course. The 78th Adventure Course will concludes on October 7, 2016.
