Centre creating ethnic conflicts in NE : Panelists
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Nov 11 (NPN)
“New Delhi has been consistently trying to project the insurgency movement of the region as ethnic conflict,” RK Ranendrajit said, alleging that separate political arrangement demands of the Nagas and Kuki within the territory of Manipur were instigated by the Government of India.
He observed that even if a settlement was worked out between NSCN (I-M) and the government of India, it would not be a lasting solution as it would pave the way for disharmony among the ethnic communities living in the region.
In the event of the settlement affecting Manipur, he said “we need to discuss on what are the roles needed to be taken up by the 60 MLAs of the state, the Meira Paibi and other social organizations to protect ourselves from such worst situation and to save our territorial integrity.”
