CCTVs at Imphal governor's house
Times of India | TNN | Oct 22, 2011, 01.05PM IST, Imphal:
As part of a modernization programme, the Manipur state government has begun installation of Closed Circuit Television(CCTV) cameras at the Raj Bhawan, the chief minister's bungalow-cum-office and the Khwairamband Bazar areas in Imphal.
The CM's bungalow, the governor's house and Manipur secretariat came under bomb attacks a few years back. Though Manipur police has been functioning under tremendous resource constraints, the governor said over 10,000 officers and other staff have been recruited in the last one or two years. The strength of the state police force has increased from 15,414 in January 2008 to 24,618 by January 2011.
"I hope that the scientific training, proper deployment , right equipment and able man power will help surmount the challenges the cops face," the governor added.
