CBI probe demanded in Richard Loitam killing case

Students in Manipur Wednesday demanded CBI probe into the killing of Richard Loitam, a second semester student of the Acharya NRV School of Architecture at Soladevanahalli (Bangalore) on April 18 in Bangalore.
“New Delhi should direct the Karnataka government to hand over the case (of killing Richard),” a leader of the medical students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal said at the sit-in protest in front of their institute Wednesday.
Students of the institute boycotted their classes for the day and staged the protest showing solidarity to widespread protest against the killing of Richard.
Slogans read, “we condemn the killing, stop discriminating NE students by mainland Indian, We want justice in the killing, book the culprit(s), award befitting punishment to the student murderers, etc,” were displayed at the protest site.
