Born To Save
Lunminthang Haokip *
1. Born in sin, man had no way out,
Torn and worn, ways he'd to look out,
To the rich, the poor go for self,
To the strong, the weak bow for help;
To be saved men tap every door,
But unsaved, his need grows the more.
We bank on health to live longer,
We turn to wealth to live better;
We lust and take risk to be aped,
We don't trust Jesus to be saved
Tho' we are born to mourn and crave,
Let's thank God, for He's born to save.
2 . Some think that they are born to sing,
But being re-born will blessing bring;
Some pride that they are born to sin,
But sin will make you in sorrow spin;
Dear brother, why suffer in tear?
When Christ's born to save and bear.
3. Sin hurts and the sinner's guilty,
To save from guilt, He's the surety;
Deep in sin you may have been lost,
He can save to the uttermost;
All you need to do is to repent
And allow Christ to grace give.
4. Sold on songs, I drifted away,
Cold on souls, I couldn't deeply pray;
Tired and dry, I cried His mercy,
God's servants knocked on His pity;
In joy I sing, He's born to save,
In joy I sing, He's born to save.
