BJP Is Getting Stronger But A Big But

Polling for Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats in Manipur valley districts on January 11 2016 :: Pix - Shankar Khangembam
The election result of the Municipal Councils and the Nagar Panchayats indicates that Congress is still strong in the State but we can’t simply ignore the emerging force of BJP. It is reliably learnt that in some places the contest was not exactly on party lines.
For instance in Thoubal almost all the Contestants belong to the CM party, so the contest could not be made on party lines. The independent winners belong to CM party. Sorry to use the nomenclature CM party instead of Congress party. There is a fundamental logic to this , all the workers and contesting candidates are Okram loyalists.
They are no doubt Congress loyalists but more loyal to Okram. If Okram changes his party all of them will follow him. Hypothetically speaking if Okram all of a sudden joins BJP all his followers and disciples will certainly become members of Sangh parivar. If the voters of Sanghai Yumpham agree this is not impossible.
THOUBAL IS IMPREGNABLE TILL NOW
It is almost 15 years or so the entire Thoubal is swayed away by the robust politics of an able man. There is no one who can effectively challenge his leadership and influence.
This gentleman is so strongly footed in his constituencies because of his commitment to development of the place and employment of the people. Perhaps it is high time to change the State Capital to Thoubal because it is now more presentable than Imphal.
BJP CERTAINLY CAN DO POWER POLITICS
The State Assembly Election is likely to be held early next year. As of now BJP is gradually growing and expanding in the State. The untiring approach of its Central leaders towards the State makes it possible to inspire the State leadership and workers. Their Manipur in-charge is always available in the State at the drop of a hat.
Most positive trait of this gentleman is, he listens to everyone and takes a balanced decision. If he has been inducted in the Central Ministry in the next ministry reshuffling, it is going to be a great lost to the BJP party organization of the State. But he deserves to be rewarded.
One of his confidants told me that even as a minister he can still be made in-charge of the state. A minister may not be able to give hundred percent contributions to the party affairs but there can be exceptions .
If BJP is really serious about doing power politics they have to maneuver some compromises in terms of admission and distribution of tickets, going by numbers and winnables respectively.
LISTEN TO ALL THE VOICES SANE OR OTHERWISE
If a dormant Journo like me murmur that there will be a hung Assembly in 2017 in Manipur, I am entitled to my views; and I am saying it on the basis of my studies and research with my gossiping friends of political parties and lethargic media persons but very experienced.
They all agree around the table that in 2017 there will be a coalition government in Manipur led by either BJP or Congress. We have the liberty to change our opinion after a few months because the Assembly election is one year away from now. It is indeed too early to predict the verdict.
However keeping in view the political trends in the hills and valley there is absolute likelihood of a hung assembly as of now. Let us talk about the combination of the coalition in the next sipping session.
SURE SHOT IN 2017,IF
If Shri Damodarji can convince Shri Okramji to join his Sangh along with his family, followers, disciples, sycophants, parasites, beggars, traitors, etc. BJP will come to power in the State 100%.
Anybody can challenge this view on the basis of any logical or illogical argument but without violence and intimidation. We are open to all kinds of sense and non-sense believing in the freedom of thoughts and expressions.
When the craziest thought of internet can rule the world through www (not wine, women and wealth) and again the romantic idea of class-less society run the world wild for almost a century, why can’t a magical mantra on ‘maan ki baat’ capture the imagination of this tiny land of eternal AFSPA?
The magical mantra is, ‘Bring back ILPS, Build more Autonomy (hills), Blast off AFSPA, Bridge to Burma’. If the mantra is correctly pronounced the Jewel of India is yours Sir.
