3-day Annual Sports and entertainment program at Pune
The Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND), Pune which is a registered nonprofit,
non-government community organization formed by the Manipuri professionals
working in /retired from the Central Government or Maharashtra Government or other
reputed Institutions based in and around Pune in association with the Manipur Students’
Association, Pune (MSAP) organized a 3-day Annual Sports cum entertainment program
on 24th, 25th and 28th Feb. 2016 in Pune.
This joint venture having its common objectives to foster the spirit of unity, harmony and goodwill amongst the brothers & sisters living in
and around Pune will help in promoting the coexistence and social bonding of people of Manipur in Pune.
Students from different Manipuri communities who are studying in and around Pune
participated in various individual as well as team events. Apart from the friendly events
like football (Students Vs Professionals), tug of war for ladies (students Vs. Seniors), tug
of war for gents (students Vs. Seniors) etc., many more fun-filled competitions for the kids
as well as for the family members staying in and around Pune were also organized on the
last day.
With a neck to neck competition, the “Eastern Eagles Team” has finally picked up
the Football winning trophy “Smt. H. Akasini Devi Memorial Rolling Football Trophy”
donated by Dr. H. Narendra Singh along with a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-.
The ‘Pangyei
Yeiba Team’ managed to get the Cricket winner’s trophy “Shri Th. Ibotomba Singh
Memorial Rolling Cricket Trophy” donated by WO T. Pakasana Singh (Retd) along with a
cash prize of Rs. 5000/-. The “Pangchan Chanba Team” bagged the Football Runners-up
trophy while the “Meitei Kanglasha Team” bagged the Cricket Runners-up trophy.
MSAP & AMAND Pune expressed their sincere gratitude to all the
individuals/institutions/organizations for their unconditional support in making the event a
grand success. This sports meet was well coordinated by Shri Ajit Salam (Sports Secy,
AMAND, Pune) and Shri Nongmaithem Bidyadatta Angomcha (Sports Secy, MSAP).
The 3-day joint venture was ended with the votes of thanks by Shri S. Sonamani
Singh and declared “Closed” by the President, AMAND, Pune.
