The Tata Institute of Social Sciences announces admission to B.A. (Hons) in Social Work with Specialisation in Rural Development 2010-2013. This job-oriented professional programme is offered by the School of Rural Development located at Tuljapur (near Solapur, Maharashtra).
Eligibility:
12th Standard (or equivalent) in any stream with minimum average of 50% marks (40% for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 45% for Kashmiri Migrants). Candidates awaiting results can also apply.

Seat Reservations:
15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 27 % for OBC (Non Creamy Layer ) candidates. Free application forms will be provided to those SC and ST candidates who are unemployed and whose parents / guardian's annual income is Rs.1,00,000/- or below in the financial year 2008- 2009.
The candidates are required to submit an attested true copy of caste/tribe certificate by the competent authority of the Government and income certificate of their parents/guardians issued by a Village Revenue Officer / Tahsildar / the employer.
3% seats for Persons With Disability (PWD) of which 1% seats each are reserved for
(a) low vision / blindness,
(b) hearing impairment, and
(c) loco-motor disability/cerebral palsy.
1% of seats are reserved for Kashmiri Migrants.
Last date for receipt of completed applications at TISS, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088 in person or by hand, by post is March 10, 2010, and for remote and far flung areas/regions and international students is March 20 , 2010.
Admission Procedure:
Those satisfying the eligibility requirements will be assessed for selection through a process involving two stages:
(1) Written Test, and
(2) Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
The Written Test will be conducted on April 18, 2010, at Ahmedabad, Aurangabad (Mah), Bangaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Leh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Portblair , Ranchi and Tuljapur. Pre-admission coaching for SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer), Minority candidates will be organized on April 16 and 17, 2010, in the Tuljapur Campus of TISS. They can have their written test in Tuljapur Campus of TISS.
Short-listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be held on the Tuljapur Campus of TISS on June 9, 10 & 11 , 2010.
