Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, invites applications from II year B Sc/Integrated M.Sc. students for the award of Young Science Fellowship 2008
Eligibility Criteria
Students must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at plus two level, studying in the second year
B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. programme in Science subjects at any College/University in India and secured a minimum 60% marks in the first year.
Candidates Studying Medicine / Veterinary / Dental / Pharmacy / Engineering are not eligible
Features of YSFP
The selected candidates will be permitted to spend six weeks at the Institute during May-June 2008. During the Programme, there will be organized lectures by the faculty of IISc., problem solving sessions and project work.
Accommodation and Mess Facilities
Institute will not provide any accommodation to selected participants and participants have to make their own accommodation arrangements during the period of the Programme. However, they will be provided with Mess facility.
Financial Support
IISc will provide:
- Traveling allowance – equivalent to II Class train fare, from college/residence to IISc and back.
- Free board at IISc.
- Fellowship Grant of Rs 5000/-
- A Book grant of Rs. 1,500/- .
There will be a suitable relaxation in the eligibility criteria for SC/ST/PH students.
