Post Doctoral Research Initiation Program at ICSSR-NERC Shillong

The NERC-ICSSR, Shillong, is pleased to announce its first post doctoral research initiation program for the scholars of North-Eastern region.
Objective: The primary intent of this program is to select up to 20 young (under 45 years) post doctoral scholars from the North-Eastern region and enable the scholar to initiate research and prepare better quality proposals for funding support from the various funding agencies.
The selected scholars would be required to participate in a workshop which gives training on: writing skills, project formulation and some key elements of research methodology.
A second workshop will be held in March 2010 to present and discuss the output for their research effort.
Eligibility: ICSSR-NERC seeks to strengthen the link between teaching and research, hence, the program is open to scholars who are holding Ph.D.'s in any social science discipline. Scholars who are intended to apply for this programme are requested to send their research topic and a brief write-up on its significance and suitability for research, and principal research questions along with the prescribed proforma as in our website.
The project initiation grant will be Rs. 50,000/-. As many as twenty scholars will be awarded for the year 2009-2010. This program is supported by the ICSSR, New Delhi.
