Academic activities paralyse in Colleges due to Class Boycott
3rd February 2020
Federation of Government College Teachers’ Associations, Manipur (FEGOCTA) is the only teachers’ body in Manipur which launched series of agitations demanding 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018.
On the first day of class boycott and sit in protests in all the colleges on 3rd February, the academic activities in the Government Colleges have been paralysed.
The leadership of FEGOCTA and Lamka College joined Sit in Protests held at Churachanpur College on 3rd February. After cease work by FEGOCTA the Cabinet approved in principle the demand on 29th November, 2019.
The Cease work was suspended by FEGOCTA due to written assurance and full faith to the government leadership.
However after more than 63 days of Cabinet approval in principle, Government has again ignored the genuine demands of FEGOCTA. The College teachers should not be forced to resume cease work.
Hence FEGOCTA appeals once again to implement the national policy of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018 at the earliest.
