TODAY -
A Night of all Nights
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
I have always hated a dark night;
There is an unearthly look about it.
To me the night is symbolic of death,
The end of life.
It is different tonight.
Not every night is a lovely night –
Tonight is.
Orchid cactuses are in full bloom
In two flowerpots of my kitchen garden.
Fifteen beautiful blooms!
I know it starts blooming after sunset
And remains open throughout the night;
It closes before sunrise
And droops visibly on long stalks
With no memory and desire.
