A Face in the Crowd
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
A face in the crowd!
Romantic ideas of becoming a man?
Oh no no no no.
Never have I felt really at peace
With myself
Never.
I feel I am not
Mad as a March hare
Though I have to wait and wait.
I am still waiting
For a glimpse of
A face in the crowd.
But why?
My Lord
The evening sun winks at me;
I can hear the whispering of the darkling sky
And my heart is not blank.
I feel I am not one of the crowd.
I think I stand out
From the crowd.
My Lord
My heart is not blank.
Maybe I am not prepared
When love comes.
Until today I have not met
The love of my life.
I may meet yet.
Do I hope against hope?
No.
Hope springs eternal.
My Lord
My heart is not blank.
A face in the crowd!
For my eyes only.
'I would like you to meet her.'
'Why me?'
My Lord
My heart is not blank.
