6 Naga rebel groups form body to join peace process
Assam Tribune | R Dutta Choudhury | Guwahati, Oct 21
Six militant groups of Nagaland have formed a coordination committee to hold talks jointly with the Government of India at a time when the process of talks with the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (I-M) is coming to a conclusion as the Centre is keen on an “inclusive solution” involving all the stakeholders.
Highly placed sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) told The Assam Tribune that the civil society of Nagaland is also keen that all the rebel groups should join the peace process and the Government of India is also very clear on its stand. The government has made it clear that there would be no separate agreements with different groups and there should be a comprehensive solution to the Naga political issues. If any outfit or group stays out of the peace process, it will be left out of the process, sources asserted.
