3 Border Haats to be set up along India-Myanmar border
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Oct 6
In line with the border haats opened along Indo-Bangladesh border, three more haats (bazars) will be set up along the India-Myanmar border in Manipur, an official source said Saturday. The border haats will be set up at convenient places at Konkan Thana village of Ukhrul district, Molcham of Chandel district and Bihang of Churachandpur district, located at the international border with Myanmar, source said.
Responding to a proposal of India government, the government of Myanmar has agreed to set up border haats at these three border villages with the objective boost up cross border trades between the two neighbouring countries, source added.
