Imphal, February 21, 2010: A police personnel working as cook in Imphal West district police station has been killed on the spot when a violent clash broke out among police personnel at a North AOC location at about 9 pm today.

The deceased is said to be one Thomas from Tarung village in Thangmeiband.

Another person, said to be a Sub Inspector namely Suresh of naoremthong also suffered injuries during the clash involving groups of security personnel.

Suresh is undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital.

Even though police authorities declined to comment, eyewitnesses said squabble over a girl might be the chief factor.
