Imphal, December 17 2009: Strongly refuting the claim of the Assam Rifles that one '2nd lieutenant' of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of the outlawed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) was killed during an encounter at Sema village in Chandel district on December 12, the militant outfit today said that the person was killed after arrest.

The Assam Rifles had claimed that PLA's '2nd lieutenant' identified as one Anil @ Premjit was killed in the encounter and recovered from the slain cadre one 9mm pistol, one magazine, and a dairy.

GM Changjou, Chief, Department of Publicity, RPF today refuted the Assam Rifles claim saying that Premjit was never a member of the outfit and also that the man was shot dead in cold blood in a fake encounter by the security forces personnel after he was arrested.
