Imphal, November 23 2009: The identity of the UG suspect who was shot dead by a combined team of Thoubal District Police Commandos and personnel of 34 Assam Rifles during a reported encounter at Yairipok Pechi Chinglak yesterday afternoon has been established as one Mutum Somorjit (17) s/o late Angoudon of Chandrakhong Awang Leikai.

It is suspected that he was a KCP cadre.

The combined force have claimed to recover one AK-Rifles and a magazine loaded with 15 live rounds from near his body.

The post-mortem examination of the body was conducted at Lilong PHC today before being handed over to his family member.
