Imphal, August 19 2009: Unidentified miscreants have triggered a blast at the residence of Pangambam Ibomcha at Irilbung yesterday around 8.05pm.Sanayaima (45) son of Ibomcha sustained splinter injury.

However, he was discharged from hospital today.

Ibomcha is a peon in the state horticulture department.

Staging a sit in protest today against the incident at Irilbung, womenfolk of the area demanded clarification from the concerned group for the attack.

Protestors said that if the perpetrators fail to clarify, it would be assumed that both the state and non-state actors have turned against the people who are living hand to mouth.

Protestors displayed placards reading-'we want peace,' 'we condemn blast at residential areas,' etc.
