Imphal, August 28 2009: LDA Officer on Special Duty Chongtham Gojendro was threatened with a hand grenade being lobbed at his Singjamei Mathak Chongtham Leikai residence at about 2.20 pm today.

The grenade lobbed by some unidentified persons hit the chest of a security personnel manning the residential gate of Gojendro.

But luckily, the grenade failed to explode.

Explosive experts of Manipur Police have retrieved the grenade.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Club, Chongtham Leikai has strongly condemned the grenade attack.

The club has also appealed to all concerned not to undertake such attacks in future.
