Imphal, November 24 2009: Rebutting the newsreport on alleged picking up of one Seikholien Haokip and eliminating him in a fake encounter by troops of 11 Field Regiment of 57 Mountain Division, a PIB Defence Wing hand out has clarified that no such individual by the said name had been picked up by any of its unit.

The report of the elimination was published in 'The Sentinel' newspaper where it was clearly stated that the encounter was between Assam Rifles and the individual on November 18, 2009, the PIB Defence Wing handout, said, adding that 11 Field Regiment had no role in this incident.
