Imphal, March 22 2010: The proposed indefinite bandh along Mayai Lambi over the incident of killing of Hawaibam Amujao of Sekmaijin Mamang Leikai has been called off.18year old Amujao, a handyman of a passenger bus was reportedly killed by personnel of 28 Assam Rifles during a shoot out at Kongba Irong on the night of March 19.However, the JAC formed in protest against the killing contended that Amujao had been picked up from Andro Parking and was shot dead in a fake encounter.

Demanding justice and action against the involved personnel, the JAC was planning to impose an indefinite bandh along Mayai Lambi with effect from 5 am tomorrow.

The decision to call off the bandh, however, was arrived at after a joint meeting between the MLA of Hiyanglam A/C Elangbam Dwijamani and the representatives of the JAC today.

Consequently, the family members have also taken the body.
