Imphal, December 12 2009: Troops of 28 Assam Rifles gunned a suspected underground at Semang village 30 kilometer north east from Tengnoupal police station of Chandel district today at about 3 pm.

A 9mm pistol loaded with three live rounds recovered from the slain suspect, police said.

The dead body of the unidentified suspect has been handed over to the Tengnoupal police station by the AR authority, a police report said.

Meanwhile, troops of 31 Assam Rifles apprehended a KCP(MC) cadre yesterday at about 7.30 pm from Forest Gate of Chandel.

The nabbed cadre has been identified as Sobha (37) son of Chouba of Moreh ward-9, Moreh.

He was handed over to Imphal police station, a statement of the PRO, IGAR(S) informed.
