Imphal, November 11 2009: Following an understanding between the JAC and the Government, the family members have taken the body of Ist IRB Rifleman and escort commander of MLA V Hangkhalien Oinam Inaotomba alias Tomba of Bashikhong who was beaten to death by eight personnel over a missing gun.

The body was taken after post-mortem at RIMS today.

The JAC has demanded payment ex-gratia as well as other entitlements of the deceased, offering of a suitable job to some of the family members and dismissal of the culprits from service.

Though the first two demands have been conceded by the Government, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh reportedly assured the JAC of doing the needful with regard to the remaining demand after a thorough investigation during a joint meeting yesterday.
