Imphal, May 24 2009: A Havildar of 2 Assam Rifles killed self by using his own service rifle yesterday.

According to police, the Havildar identified as one Narendra Singh (41) of Pansyari village of Uttar Pradesh took the extreme step at around 3:50 pm inside his post at Tuikong of Churachandpur district.

The body of the deceased which bore a bullet hole in the neck has been sent to his home village after conducting post mortem examination at RIMS mortuary today.
