Imphal, January 18 2009: The Relay Fasting Protest held at the PDA complex of Porompat under the organization of Sharmila Kanba Lup (SKL) has counted more than one and half month today.

Mention could be made that the relay fasting protest started from December 10, 2008 last, organized by the SKL supporting the eight year old fasting protest of Irom Sharmila demanding the repeal of the Armed Forces Special Power Act, 1958 which was imposed over Manipur by the central government.

Volunteers of various organizations and localities had been taking part in the protest.

Over 150 volunteers of organizations including CADA Singjamei Unit, CADA Uchekon Unit and CADA Kongba Unit took part in today's protest.
