Imphal, February 27, 2010: Three Myanmarese nationals were apprehended by troops of 29 AR while travelling in a Maruti van at Chamol mobile vehicle check post yesterday.

A press release issued by the PRO of Hqs IG AR (S) identified the apprehended Myanmarese nationals as Abdul Guffar (22) s/o Ayuf Ali, Md Khair Uddin (20) s/o Md Nuru Uddin and Amir Ahammed (40) s/o late Md Habib, all residents of Kyoto, Yankhai city Myanmar.

They reportedly revealed that they crossed over to India via Bangladesh.

They came to Manipur through Silchar and Imphal to liaise with militant outfits of North East, added the release.
