Imphal, September 22 2009: A remote controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by unidentified persons at Lilong Chajing junction along Imphal-Moreh road has been set off safely by explosive experts of Manipur Police this evening.

The explosive was planted under grove of shrubs on the eastern side of NH 39.It was detected at about 6.30 pm.

Explosive experts set it off safely at about 7.20 pm.

Because of the explosive, vehicular traffic along the highway was disturbed for sometime.
