Imphal, May 18 2009: Unidentified armed persons opened fire at the Arapti Mayai Leikai residence of Konthoujam Yaima Singh (52) who is a lecturer of Physics in Lilong Haoreibi College at around 6.25 pm today.

Though no one was injured in the attack, a Maruti car (MN1K-0614) kept in the garage suffered damage.

The left side rear tyre of the Maruti car and its oil tank have been punctured by bullet.

It is said that suspected PULF cadres have come asking for the lecturer at his house as well as at the college in March.

People of the locality have condemned the firing attack.
