Imphal, April 15 2009: All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPCO) decried the intention of the troops of Red Shield Division in using innocent villagers in their Operation Summer Storm at Loktak Lake.

A press release of the committee said that bringing of innocent villagers in the midst of heavy exchange of firing is a violation of international law and an act of cowardice on the part of Army.

The committee also expressed reservations over CM Ibobi's silence regarding the incident.

The body also expressed concern over the possible threats to Sangai due to the operation.
