Imphal, July 08 2009: Students and womenfolk continued carrying sit-in protest against the detention of students under NSA at different places.

Today, the sit in protest were staged at various places in Imphal east.

Protestors also burnt down the effigies of chief minister and DGP at the concluding part of the protest.

Some of the places where students staged sit-in protest today were at Top Dusara High School, Top Awang Leikai, Namkholung High School, Swambung and Swambung High School.

Womenfolk also staged sit-in protest at Top Awang Leikai, Kangla Sangomshang, Kangla Shiphai, Khurai Angom Leikai, Moirangkampu.

At the concluding part of the sit-in protest at Top Awang Leikai, womenfolk burnt down the effigies of the chief minister and DGP and shouted various slogans decrying the detention of students under NSA.
