Imphal, August 24 2009: Security forces have killed a suspected underground insurgent in the early hours of today at a place located between Toubul and Ngaikhong under Bishnupur police station as killing of underground suspects has resumed after a gap of nearly two or three weeks since the agitations against the Khwairamband market shootout on July 23 were launched.

The killing of the suspected underground which police said killed in encounter by the combined force of 4/8 Gorkha Rifles and Bishnupur district took place at about 4 am today.

An Ak-56 rifle with a magazine loaded with nine live rounds recovered from the slain suspect, police said.

The dead body of the slain suspect whose identity is yet to establish has been brought up and kept at RIMS morgue for official identification.
