Imphal, September 21 2009: A gunfight between suspected militant groups was reported tonight around 9.50 at a place between Chingnungkok and Nongren under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East.

As there has been no information about the involvement of the Lamlai police, 88 BSF, and personnel of the Imphal East police in the shoot-out, it has been speculated that the gunfight could have been between militants.

No report of casualty has, however, been received.
