Imphal, February 27, 2010: The Chief Minister of Manipur Okram Ibobi has extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang, the festival of colours, which commences tomorrow.

In a message, the Chief Minister said, "Yaoshang, one of the greatest festivals of Manipur, is a festival of joy and reconciliation.

The festival provides us an occasion to come together to celebrate the spirit of harmony and friendship, forgetting differences and misunderstanding".

He also prayed that Yaoshang would bring peace and prosperity to all the people of Manipur.

GOC, 3 Corps, Lt Gen NK Singh and GOC, 57 Red Shield Division, Maj Gen DS Hooda have also extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang.

In a message of greetings, the two GOCs said that the day becomes auspicious this year thus urging all to forgive all bitterness and usher together in an era of peace and prosperity with renewed vigour.

May the festival bring peace, joy and prosperity to the people of Manipur, the message said.
